The new owner of WAPJ will begin doing renovations to the studio starting on Friday at 6 pm. Consequently, there will be no local broadcasts including our show over the next few weeks. The station will broadcast holiday music and will also provide live coverage of Torrington High School boys and girls basketball home games. While we are disappointed that we won't be able to do the show, we are however very excited about the upcoming improvements to the studio. Have a happy and safe holiday season and a Happy New Year!
-Vin and Paul

More on James Booker
I forgot to mention ..Harry Connick Jr., a student and close friend of Booker, is probably his most renowned disciple. I wouldn't have guessed that connection.

Ray Charles
I want to thank Vinny for doing something unique on last night's show although he got the idea from Ol' Dave Massota. Vinny played some great Ray Charles music and then followed it up with some artists that were influenced by Ray. He played songs from artists James Booker, Henry Butler and Van Morrison. I had never heard of Booker and Butler before but I greatly enjoyed their songs that Vinny played.
